StarHistory

1900

More than 100 associations were organized in the US to influence federal and state legislation and to obtain industry information.1

1940

Associations supplied the government with information serving as a valuable link between the industries they represented and the government.1

1960

The greatest period of growth for associations was during the economic boom of the 1960s.1

1995

StarChapter’s co-founder Allan began attending local chapter meetings of an association and joined as a member.

2000

Allan began working at a start up in the SaaS space before the term was technically coined. Giving him experience and the invaluable understanding of the promise of vendor hosted applications, rapid development methods, web-first and mobile-first applications.

Software-as-a-service (SaaS) was just taking off after faltering in the late 1999s and early 2000s.

2006

2008

The Great Recession - Believing that professional and trade associations are the backbone of many industries and would stay viable, even grow in importance, as the economy healed, the recession did not restrain StarChapter.

2008

StarChapter was founded by Ryan and Allan starting with a conversation over bagels. They worked together to create a member-friendly software-as-a-service (SaaS) company to manage and increase the efficiency of any local chapter of professional and trade associations.
