We continuously enhance and develop more features and services to fit your chapter’s needs.

At StarChapter we thrive off of our role in helping associations drive professionalism, provide advocacy, advance careers, and develop leaders. We do this by helping volunteer leaders of professional and trade associations at the local level grow their membership while saving them time on administrative tasks and providing services to maximize their efforts.

More than 100 associations were organized in the US to influence federal and state legislation and to obtain industry information.1 


Associations supplied the government with information serving as a valuable link between the industries they represented and the government.1


The greatest period of growth for associations was during the economic boom of the 1960s.1


The focus of associations shifts from social events to education programming for all levels of job titles and expertise.


The term “SaaS” or software-as-a-service was first mentioned in an internal document called “Software as a Service: Strategic Backgrounder” by the Software & Information Industry Association

Mid-late 2000s

Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) started to take hold thanks to multiple improvements in computing, internet speed/stability, and mobile devices. People and companies began to trust cloud computing and benefited from lower startup and maintenance costs, simpler implementations, and ease of use from anywhere at any time.


The concept for StarChapter was created to overcome the inefficiencies local chapters of professional and trade associations face when managing multiple solutions. Especially when considering the solutions don't go hand in hand, resulting in spending hours doing repetitive tasks and still running into difficulties.


The Great Recession - Believing that professional and trade associations are the backbone of many industries and would stay viable, even grow in importance, as the economy healed, the recession did not restrain StarChapter.


StarChapter was founded. We've worked together to create a member friendly software-as-a-service (SaaS) company to manage and increase the efficiency of any local chapter of professional and trade associations.


Reached our first 100 customers.


Moved operations and sales teams into our new office space in Owings Mills, MD.


Through StarChapter’s exposure to numerous association executives we developed best practices, board trainings, and blogs geared specifically to help board members lead their local chapters successfully.


Re-architected the StarChapter platform to be multi-tenant. Allowing us to scale to handle our accelerating growth and improve the platform’s performance and reliability.


Substantially improved our mass email sending service to provide better email analytics, speed of sending, and scalability.


StarChapter's support experts pulled their resources to launch our comprehensive knowledgebase (kb.starchapter.com) developing video tutorials, user guides, how tos, and tips, to enhance our customer experience.

New Admin Icon


Our new admin area launched with a fresh, new interface that increased functionality, improved your security, and makes the admin experience more mobile-friendly.


Our new layout series, the M Series was released. The M Series includes the latest in modern website layout designs as well as new and improved functionality.
