StarChapter of October: CCIM Central Arizona

The Central Arizona CCIM Chapter promotes the highest ethical standards in commercial real estate, provides quality educational programs to members and related professionals, serves as a forum where intelligence and success can be shared and celebrated, and finally, enhances the awareness and recognition of the CCIM designation to the business community.  We were able to connect with Tiffany Miner to see how their chapter educates their members and shares best practices with other CCIM chapters.

1. What was CCIM Central Arizona’s strategy for engaging new members in the past year?

Our mission is to provide education and networking opportunities for our members and those interested in joining.  We made sure to have educational as well as fun events for everyone.

2. Tell us about a successful event/meeting you organized last year.

Our golf tournament was the most successful.  Not only did all our members have a great time, but our sponsors really enjoyed themselves and were eager to commit to another year of sponsoring.

3. The CCIM Central Arizona network is extensive. Does the board get ideas on how to improve membership value from other chapters?

We have Best Practice session with other chapters as well as spring/fall and annual chapter training events and we discuss what events work and what do not.

4. Do you have any tips/advice to share with other board volunteers?

It is a volunteer board, but you did volunteer.  Keep this in mind and don’t accept if you are not going to participate.  Ask questions: ask what your role will be, what is expected of you, and how long your term is going to be.

5. What is in store for your members this year?

We want to shake things up for 2018 and rolling out a new calendar and a new style of events that we hope will meet the needs of all our members as well as get new members

6. How have been able to utilize StarChapter to run CCIM Central Arizona and reach its goals?

We really enjoy the membership and prospects under one roof.  We can look at what members and non-members have participated in, we can send out communications to specific groups for specific events or everyone.  We can provide ecommerce and track profit and loss for our events.  We can have one person in charge of the database or a multiple of board members.   We have enjoyed using StarChapter thus far.
