Adding Video to your Website

Adding a video to your website is a great way to give visitors more information about your chapter. To add a video to your website, begin by uploading the video. To do so, navigate to the Upload Videos page in the admin area, under the Content Manager tab. Click on the Upload Video tab at the top of the screen.

Select Files button at the bottom of the screen. Navigate to the video you would like to upload, select the video and click the Open button. Your video will automatically be uploaded. If the file format of your video is anything other than a .FLV file, you will be prompted to convert your video to this format on the next screen. Click the link to start the conversion process. Once your video has been converted, you will be able to add it to any of your web pages.

To add your new video to one of your pages, navigate to the Page Content page under the Content Manager tab. Choose the Add a Section to an Existing page option. On the next screen, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Select button next to the Video Player option.

Next, specify which page you would like this video added to by choosing it from the drop down list. In the Description field add a description for this content, for example Annual Meeting Video. Choose the Placement of the video by selecting it from the drop-down menu. Next to the Video file field you will see a drop-down menu of all of the videos uploaded to your website - select the one you would like to add to your page. In the editor area, you should see some code that looks like this: $$_PHP include 'custom/video.php'; PHP_$$. This is what includes your video on the page and is necessary for the video to appear. If you would like to add a description of the video, place it above or below this line of code.

Once you have added your video, click the Insert button at the bottom of the screen. You will now be able to view your video on this page of your website.
